Antique Black Forest Deer Sculpture – 19th Century
Beautiful hand-carved Black Forest wooden sculpture of a deer in a forest landscape. Finely detailed carving with a warm patina and mounted on an oval base.
Made from carved lindenwood (limewood), a wood traditionally used for Black Forest carvings because of its fine structure and ability to hold detail.
Period: Late 19th century (circa 1880–1900)
Condition: Good antique condition with normal signs of age. Originally something was mounted on the top, which is now missing.
A charming decorative piece and a classic example of traditional Black Forest craftsmanship.
