Black Chinese Qing Dining Table (230 cm) — Mid to Late 18th Century — Original Lacquer
An exquisite Qing dynasty table, dating to the mid to late 18th century, finely crafted in elm (yumu) and retaining its original black lacquer, now enriched with a beautifully matured craquelure. The piece is constructed with traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, complemented by subtly hand-shaped curved braces that reflect the refined craftsmanship of northern China.
Dimensions: 230 × 89 × 78 cm.
Its unusually generous proportions allow it to serve beautifully as a dining table, while preserving the elegant silhouette of a classical altar form.
Showing authentic signs of age and long use (see photos), this table offers a compelling blend of presence, patina, and timeless 18th-century character.
