An exceptional vintage French metamorphic painter’s box easel, made for plein air and travel use. Manufactured by Grumbacher (BREV. S.G.D.G.), this portable artist’s easel dates from the early 20th century and is both functional and beautifully aged.
Crafted from wood with brass fittings, the easel features an adjustable three-leg floor stand, allowing for various painting angles and working heights. It folds down into a compact box with a handle, ideal for artists on the move. The wood and brass show a rich, original patina with all components present and in working order.
