Post Cabinet Chest from a Belgian Rectory, circa 1900–1920
A beautiful early 20th-century post cabinet originating from a Belgian rectory, crafted in warm-toned wood and decorated with elegant inlaid panels on the doors. Behind the doors, the interior reveals an impressive arrangement of multiple small drawers alongside open shelving compartments, originally designed for organizing correspondence and documents.
The cabinet stands on elegantly turned legs connected by a shaped stretcher, adding both stability and visual refinement. It retains its original key, and the locks and hardware are still present, enhancing the authenticity of the piece. The wood displays a rich natural patina with light signs of use consistent with its age, contributing to its historic character.
