Rare 19th Century Highly Decorative Bull Horn Armchair (1870)
This extraordinary and fully original armchair from 1870 is an exceptional example of late 19th-century craftsmanship. Supported on its original brass castors, the chair combines both functionality and striking decoration. The seat is beautifully upholstered with a floral motif, transitioning seamlessly from the horns to the fabric, highlighted by a leather band around the upholstery. The piece exhibits natural wear consistent with age and use, adding to its character and charm (please see photos).

A Timeless Craft – Antler Furniture
Antler furniture has been one of the most sought-after objects since the Great Exhibition of the Industries of All Nations in London in 1851, where a new "lifestyle" trend was born and the emerging European bourgeoisie embraced a refined taste for decorative arts. One of the pioneering designers in this field was the German horn carver and furniture manufacturer H. F. C. Rampendahl, whose works received enthusiastic acclaim at several world exhibitions. Following this, antler furniture began to be produced in series, marking a significant moment in furniture history.
This armchair is not just a functional piece; it’s a rare historical treasure and a true work of art that would enhance any collection.
